Foundation degrees

We offer a range of foundation degree courses, each designed in conjunction with employers to ensure that they are practical and relevant to building a career in a health, education, youth or social care setting. They will provide you with all the skills, knowledge and experience you need to gain the career you aspire to.

You will study at the University of Worcester one day a week for the duration of the course (usually two years) and you can use your current employment as your work placement. If you arenít currently in a relevant job, you will need to find a suitable placement one day a week for the duration of the course. At the end of the foundation degree there is an option to continue for a third year and take up modules to gain†a BSc Hons degree.

Teaching is modular. You will study with students across the various foundation degrees for the core study skills modules, before benefitting from the experience of professional clinicians and visiting lecturers for the more specialist modules.

There is a wide variety of assessment types, including reflective journals, essays and presentations. All of the assignments are based around practice experience to ensure they are always relevant to your chosen career. Work based learning projects in the final year can give students the opportunity to develop practice which will enhance their CV and increase employment prospects.
