We are fortunate to have 1,400 car parking spaces available across all of our campuses, making it easy for you to commute by car to campus.

And if you're a commuter joining us to study in 2026/27 you might be able to pay just £100 to park on campus all year.

Student parking permits

We have a simple range of student car parking permits for 2026/27.

For students who are commuting and facing high petrol prices we've introduced an early-adopter commuter discount just for this year. If you live more than a mile from campus and purchase a full-year permit before 30 September 2026 you will pay just £100.

Commuter Permit

Eligibility criteria:

  • Students living more than 1 mile from St John’s Campus

Cost:

  • £115 per semester (1st September 2026 to 31 January 2027 OR 1st February 2027 to 31st August 2027)
  • £200 full year (1st September 2026 to 31 August 2027)

Early adopter discount

Commuter students who purchase a full year permit before 30 September 2026 will pay just £100.

(Eligible students whose course starts in semester 2 will be able to take advantage of the discount if they buy their full-year permit before 28 February 2027. This permit will run from 1st February 2027 to 31 January 2027).

Eligibility criteria

  • All students and also community users are eligible for this permit.

Cost

  • £50 per annum (1st September 2026 to 31 August 2027)

Which car parks can I use with this permit?

This permit allows parking on university campuses outside the peak hours of 8am and 5pm Monday-Friday, anytime at the weekends, bank holidays and during the months of July and August

How to apply for a parking permit

As a registered student you will be able to apply and pay for your student parking permit online. Permit applications will open in August.
