Annabel qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2005 after graduating from the University of Queensland, Australia. She worked clinically in paediatric Occupational Therapy both in Australia and the UK within a range of settings including acute, community and schools. She worked within clinical and management roles and was significantly involved in staff development and support. Annabel has a particular interest in working with children within early years Occupational Therapy.
Annabel joined the team at University of Worcester in January 2017 and worked within the practice education team, supporting both students and clinicians within the scope of student placements. She loves working within practice placements and feels that she can use skills developed over her career to work with students and clinicians. She moved into the role of Senior Lecturer, Occupational Therapy in 2022 and she is really enjoying this new role.
Outside of work Annabel spends most of her spare time with her family and loves travelling whenever she can.

Teaching & Research
Teaching Interests
Annabel loves teaching into both the BSc Occupational Therapy and MSc Occupational Therapy courses. She leads on modules across both courses and teaches into other modules, particularly relating to paediatrics.
Research Interests
Annabel has previously been involved in research within the paediatric population.
Since working at the University of Worcester she has been involved in publications relating to practice placements.
Annabel is currently completing research regarding the occupational therapy student experience on role-emerging placements.
