Fran is a lecturer in primary Physical Education who joined the department in 2021 after 8 years teaching in school. In his school experience, Fran was subject lead for PE and mentor for trainee teachers from the University of Worcester.
Fran has completed a Masters in educational leadership, researching school leadership, mentoring and coaching and effective subject leadership. Fran is currently at the thesis stage of his Doctorate in Education that looks at mentoring and CPD for primary Physical Education subject leaders. As part of his Doctorate, Fran has also researched child obesity policy, philosophy of physical education, models-based pedagogy in PE and reflexive practice in research.
