Catherine is the interim Deputy Head of the Institute of Education. Her substantive post is the Primary Strategic Partnership Lead and she has a background in Primary Education.

During her time as a primary school teacher, she focused on areas such as inclusion, Computing, Maths and English. Her school leadership varied from being Head of Lower Key Stage 2 to Head of Boarding. Catherine has spent a majority of her career focused on the development of teachers. She was the Head of Pupil and Staff Welfare and Development and mentor for trainee teachers and early career teachers. She is passionate about the holistic development of teachers and the impact educationalists have on pupils. Catherine’s research for her Masters in Teacher Education focuses on the implementation of intensive training and practice and purposeful decisions providers make in response to policy change.
