Arriving during Welcome Weekend

When you arrive on campus, staff and students will direct you to firstpoint in the Peirson Study and Guidance Centre. You can find out where the Peirson building is on our St John's campus map.

Students on some courses arrive on campus before Welcome Week. If your scheduled arrival slot is earlier than Welcome Week, you will still need to register at firstpoint.

Welcome Weekend arrivals

The majority of our new undergraduate students join us on Saturday 14 September, which is the start of our Welcome Weekend. When you arrive on campus, there will be plenty of staff and students wearing blue shirts to help you find your way.

Your start date at the University will depend on the course that you are studying. Our term dates page has more information on course start dates, holidays and exam periods.

Travelling on Sunday 15 September: Please be aware that there is a major sporting event taking place in Worcester on Sunday, which will include some road closures.  Find out more, including any road closures, on the Worcester City Run website.

When you arrive

Register on campus

All students are given a designated arrival slot on Saturday 14 September, which you will find in your confirmation letter. If you can’t join us at the time shown in your letter, you can arrive at any time between 12pm and 2pm on the following day, Sunday 15 September.

If you would like to take up this option, there’s no need to let us know in advance – just arrive on Sunday. You are welcome to arrive on campus earlier if you want to, but please register at firstpoint at your allocated time.

Collect your student ID card

The first thing that you will do is collect your Student ID card. To collect your card you will need to show us some identification, so please bring with you on the day:

  • Original photo ID, such as your passport or photocard driving licence
  • Your certificate of registration
  • DBS Certificate (if appropriate from offer conditions)

If you can’t attend on either day, you'll have other opportunities to collect your ID card from firstpoint (in the Peirson Study and Guidance Centre) throughout the first few weeks of term.
