Rebecca is the course leader for the Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care and teaches extensively across this course, the Foundation Degree in Mental Health and also across some Counselling Psychology modules too.
Like many, she started her journey at Worcester as a Foundation Degree student, beginning these studies as a mature student. Once qualified as a counsellor Rebecca completed her Master's degree to complement her counselling work and previous teaching experience. She then started lecturing on the courses and modules mentioned above.
- MSc in Counselling
- PG Cert in Learning and Teaching at HE
- BMus (hons) in Music
- FdSc in Counselling
Rebecca's teaching interests stem from her professional practice as a counsellor and previous career in teaching. Therefore, she is usually involved in modules or teaching that are based around communication skills, work-based learning and developing self-awareness.
Rebecca has a keen interest in developing students’ sense of understanding through their own learning styles and how these can be used within the course to help students achieve their potential.
Rebecca explored her main research interest in her Master's dissertation, looking specifically at the autonomy in counselling and the impact on the therapeutic relationship.
Rebecca has presented work on the student journey through a Level 5 work-based learning module and received a teaching team award in February 2020 for her involvement.
