 A graduate says winning two prestigious awards has reinforced the value of hard work and dedication as she begins her career in science.

Rose Pirmoradian has just completed her Biomedical Science degree at the University of Worcester and won both the Institute of Biomedical Science President’s Prize and the Biological Sciences Level 6 Poster Prize.

“Winning the prizes came down to hard work, early preparation and learning from every step of the process,” she said. “I dedicated long hours to my research and woke up early every day to stay ahead.”

Rose, 24 added: “Winning both of these awards is a genuine honour and a huge surprise. These are not just a personal milestone for me, but a reflection of the incredible support network I had throughout my degree. I could never have achieved this without the constant guidance of my lecturers, the encouraging environment created by my peers, and the endless support from my mom.”

Rose is graduating from the institution that has been named Daily Mail University of the Year for Graduate Jobs 2027, and is the UK’s leading multi-subject university for sustained graduate employment, further study or both one year after graduation. She received her awards and degree during a week of graduation ceremonies held at Worcester Cathedral from September 8-10.

Rose, now a multi-award-winning graduate, has already secured a job as a Laboratory Technician.

“My time at Worcester was amazing, and I’m so grateful for how encouraging my lecturers were throughout my degree. The extensive laboratory training gave me confidence to work both independently and as part of a team and provided me with the ideal preparation for my current role as a laboratory technician.”

Professor Sally Moyle, Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Worcester said: “We’re incredibly proud of all of our graduates, especially those who have been recognised with awards for going above and beyond during their studies.”
