A Fine Art with Psychology graduate says winning a prestigious award selected by a leading artist has given her confidence as she works towards a career in art psychotherapy.

Emily Jarvis won the Rob Draper Prize alongside her Fine Art with Psychology degree, with her project hand-selected by the renowned artist.

“I’m very proud that all my effort has been acknowledged,” she said. “It has boosted my confidence.”

Emily, 22, from Kent, said her family were “thrilled and proud” that she had won her award. She said her time at Worcester had created a stepping stone for her as she works towards her goal of becoming an art psychotherapist.

Emily is graduating from the institution that has been named the Daily Mail University of the Year for Graduate Jobs 2027 and is the UK’s leading multi-subject university for sustained graduate employment, further study or both one year after graduation. She received her award and degree during a week of graduation ceremonies held at Worcester Cathedral from September 8-10.

Professor Sally Moyle, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Worcester, said: “We’re incredibly proud of all of our graduates, especially those who have been recognised with awards for going above and beyond during their studies.”
