Stourbridge Student Wins Prestigious Forensic Sciences Award
A Stourbridge student says he’s gained confidence and winning spirit as he receives his degree alongside a prestigious award recognising his achievements during his course.
Bobby Thompson has completed his degree in Forensic and Applied Biology at the University of Worcester and has earned The Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences EQS Student Award.
“Receiving this award is very important to me, as it shows that my hard work has been recognised by not only my lecturers but also the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences,” he said. “It will help me get recognition from employers and will give me more confidence to have a winning spirit, as well as being proof of my dedication and attention to technical disciplines.”
Bobby, 21 and from Stourbridge, praised his former college, King Edward VI in Stourbridge for helping prepare him for his university studies.
“My time there gave me a solid foundation, as well as piquing my interest in this field of academia,” he said. “I would like to pay homage to my tutors at King Edward VI for their support in preparing me for university.”
Bobby is graduating from the institution that has been named Daily Mail University of the Year for Graduate Jobs 2027, and is the UK’s leading multi-subject university for sustained graduate employment, further study or both one year after graduation. He received his award and degree during a week of graduation ceremonies held at Worcester Cathedral from September 8-10.
