Nikki has enjoyed a varied and successful career working as a Registered Children's Nurse in a wide range of settings, including general paediatric nursing, PICU, complex care, hospice care, public health nursing (schools), and children's clinical homecare nursing. She has spent many years supporting nursing students and apprentices in practice, working as a Practice Facilitator and, more recently, as a Nursing Apprenticeship Education Facilitator at the University of Worcester - offering advice, guidance, and leadership in addressing issues that emerge in daily nursing practice.
Nikki previously worked as a Senior Lecturer in Children's Nursing for around 10 years, leading children's acute and critical care nursing modules and contributing to a range of modules across pre-registration nursing programmes, including principles of nursing practice, clinical skills, and health promotion. She has also developed bespoke education programmes, including the Aspiring to Nurse workshop series introducing Nursing Associate and Apprenticeship routes into healthcare careers.
Enthusiastic about practice education and nurturing the next generation of nurses, Nikki is committed to promoting and facilitating practice learning and professional development opportunities to support learners in developing the knowledge and skills needed to deliver safe and effective family centred nursing care.
