Lisa teaches on the Primary Initial Teacher Education (with QTS) BA (Hons), PGCE Primary (QTS) and Teacher Apprenticeship programmes within the Department for Primary Education. She is a dissertation supervisor and Personal Academic Tutor for undergraduate students. As a Lead Mentor, Lisa supports undergraduate & postgraduate trainees throughout their school experience placements and works closely with partnership schools to provide high-quality mentoring and professional development.

With over 25 years of experience in education, Lisa has worked extensively in primary schools, specialising in music and languages teaching, subject leadership, curriculum development and the effective use of technology to support inclusive learning. Originally trained as a secondary Music and French teacher, she moved into primary education in 2004. As a musician, Lisa has remained committed to conducting a range of children's ensembles and particularly enjoys selecting engaging repertoire to develop singing and instrumental playing at all levels. She also plays flute in Birmingham Symphonic Winds.

As a Deputy Head, Lisa championed positive learning behaviours and pupil wellbeing, leading her school to achieve the Wellbeing Award for Schools. Her ambitious post-COVID wellbeing strategy was recognised for its positive impact across the whole school community. In 2023, she qualified as a mindfulness teacher and delivers the Paws b and Dots programmes through the Mindfulness in Schools Project, supporting children and young people to develop resilience, wellbeing and self-awareness.

Lisa joined the University of Worcester as an Associate Lecturer in 2024 and was appointed Senior Lecturer in July 2026. She is passionate about drawing on her extensive professional experience to inspire the next generation of teachers through modelling best practice in research-informed approaches to learning and teaching.
