Kristina qualified as a Paediatric Nurse in 2009 at Birmingham City University, beginning her nursing career on the medical wards at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Just 12 months after qualifying, she became a student lead, an opportunity that developed her passion for education.
Throughout her NHS career at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Kristina moved into practice education, where she developed and led a range of education and professional development programmes for pre-registration students and registered nurses, including apprenticeships for clinical support workers.
Kristina later joined The Dudley Group of NHS Hospitals as a Professional Development Lead, initially focusing on post-registration education and development. Coming from a children’s nursing background, this role provided valuable experience within adult nursing and enhanced her understanding of nursing practice across different fields.
Following this, Kristina became the Professional Development Lead for Paediatrics, bringing together her passion for children’s nursing, education and professional development.
More recently, Kristina completed the Professional Nurse Advocate programme at the University of Worcester.
Her passion for supporting others to learn and develop has led her to her current role as a Senior Lecturer, where she draws on her clinical experience and educational leadership to support and inspire future nurses.
