Jess has been a Research Associate at the University of Worcester since 2023.

She began her research career in 2016, completing a Masters by Research (MScRes), including an independent research project based on Asset Based Community Development and the delivery of health interventions in a deprived ward in Gloucestershire.

Jess worked as a researcher for Public Health England, on a project developing an evidence-based shared decision-making resource for the self-care treatment for urinary tract infections in primary care settings. In a subsequent role at Talk Community, Jess successfully set up 15 Community Hubs in the heart of North Herefordshire, working collaboratively with communities and community organisations to build resilience in access to early help, self-care and prevention, adopting a strength-based approach.

Jess is a qualitative researcher with experience in thematic analysis, co-production, case studies and ethnography. Jess has experience applying these methods in primary care settings, service delivery, community settings and evaluation research projects. Jess is particularly interested in co-production for the development of health-related interventions, working with service users and CORE20 communities.
