James has nearly 20 years of experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), with a broad background spanning various software platforms and applications. His work ranges from teaching GIS to undergraduate and postgraduate students, academics, and stakeholders, to applying it in research and externally funded projects.
Recent projects he’s been involved in include site suitability analyses for natural flood management (NFM) techniques, waste disposal facilities, the provision and scope of Local Nature and Social Resources (LNSR), planning for dementia meeting centres, and habitat mapping and connectivity.
In addition to his GIS expertise, James has been a CAA-approved drone pilot since 2010. He operates a licensed fleet of drones capable of collecting high-quality spatial data, including RGB, infrared, thermal, LiDAR, and more.
