Chris is a specialist in Intelligent Systems. With a strong emphasis on user-centred methodologies Chris utilises a wide variety of mixed methods approaches to explore how humans can work effectively with machine learning and AI systems.
His work bridges the two domains of Human-Computer Interaction and Computational Intelligence, but he retains a particular focus on Mobile and Ubiquitous systems. Chris has applied his expertise across a wide variety of domains having worked on projects across the healthcare, engineering, media, culture and heritage sectors. This includes:
- CHAT2MA: A mobile application to support caregivers in home monitoring of infants with complex congenital heart disease.
- CASAM: An automated annotation tool for effective storage and retrieval of multimedia content across a variety of sectors.
- The Centre of Excellence for Research in Computational Intelligence (CERICA) provided consultancy services to improve adoption of AI and machine learning approaches into new sectors.
