Popular MCAT Test Now Accepted at Worcester’s Three Counties Medical School

Medical school learning

The MCAT is widely used by medical schools in Canada and the United States. Applicants wishing to study on the University’s Medicine MBChB programme can now use their existing MCAT results and will not need to take a separate admissions test specifically to apply to Worcester.

The University also accepts the UCAT (University Clinical Aptitude Test) and GAMSAT (Graduate Medical Schools Admission Test) as alternative aptitude tests.

Elizabeth O’Mara, Regional International Recruitment Manager at the University of Worcester, said: “We’re delighted to be accepting the MCAT. This means that applicants who have a valid MCAT can use it as part of their application to the Three Counties Medical School, saving them the time and expense of taking another test.”

She added: “Accepting the MCAT demonstrates the University of Worcester’s commitment to attracting talented future doctors from around the world. It broadens access to medical education and helps us build a diverse and vibrant student community.”

Medical students at the University of Worcester benefit from studying on the University’s state-of-the-art Health and Wellbeing campus, which features specialist anatomy facilities, simulated GP consulting suites and modern clinical teaching spaces.

“We have excellent support in place for students joining us from the United States and Canada,” said Elizabeth. “From visa and immigration guidance to international student orientation and dedicated support services, we help students settle quickly and make the most of their time at Worcester.”

She added: “Worcester offers international students the opportunity to study in an historic English city while becoming part of a welcoming and close-knit university community. It’s a wonderful, thriving city with everything students need, while being well connected to Birmingham, London, and the rest of the UK.”
