The session, held by the University of Worcester on Tuesday, September 2, will offer practical advice on researching universities, making the most of campus visits and understanding each step of the journey.

Sian Gould, a colleague at the University, will be taking part. She said: “Over the next year, students face big decisions on UCAS applications, Open Days, university choices and more, and it can be a lot to navigate.”

She continued: “I supported my stepdaughter through this process last year and I know how overwhelming it can feel, especially if you haven’t been to university yourself. This event is about giving parents and carers the confidence and practical tools they need to support their young person wherever they’re applying.”

The event welcomes parents and carers of all students, not just those considering the University of Worcester.

Kelly Price, a recent graduate of the University will also be taking part. She said: “It makes a huge difference when parents and supporters understand that transition to university life. My parents were able to ask the right questions, support me throughout, and help me make informed decisions and that made me feel like we were navigating it together.”

Kelly added: “In this talk we’ll give a reassuring glimpse into university life, and you’ll be able to hear how you can best support your student and you’ll be able to get your questions answered by people who’ve been in your position, as well as experts from the University of Worcester who are able to explain the processes clearly.”

The free event takes place between 18:15 and 19:15 on Tuesday, September 2.
