The Worcester Wolves preparations continue to gather pace for the British Wheelchair Basketball Women’s Premier League and today they have announced their sixth signing.
Jade Loughlin has become the latest to sign for the Worcester Wolves ahead of an exciting new chapter for the club.
Jade, who is a Classification 3.0 athlete, joins the Wolves from the Coventry Wheelchair Basketball Academy (CWBA) who she will also represent on court this season.
Playing in the top tiers within the BWB structure, with teams including Exeter Otters, Wakefield Whirlwinds, Vixens Women and CWBA, Jade brings a wealth of experience and versatility to the roster.
Accolades Jade has achieved in the sport include a Silver medal in 2013-14 BWB Women’s league and Gold medals in 2014-15 and 2015-16. She is also an Official Guinness World Record Holder for ‘The Longest Wheelchair Basketball Match’.
Jade is very excited to join the Worcester Wolves in what is a new era for Women’s Wheelchair Basketball. “I’m really excited to be part of this new league within the BWB structure,” she said. “There’s lots of innovation being put into this and I can’t wait to see what its full potential is going to bring.
“To be playing for the Worcester Wolves brand for the first time is exciting, the team and staff are amazing and I couldn’t be in a happier place; let alone with the best bunch of ladies.”

Whilst we are excited at what Jade will bring to the court as a key player, we also recognise that she has been a leader in several basketball settings and this will clearly strengthen the Wolves challenge.”
The League will be the first of its kind for women’s wheelchair basketball in the world, and the very first professional para-sport league in the UK.
The University of Worcester will be one of four High-Performance Partnerships, which also include Cardiff Metropolitan University, Loughborough University and the University of East London, that will each be home to a women’s premier league team.
