Teaching English as a foreign language

TEFL stands for teaching English as a foreign language. Developing your TEFL skills helps you to improve your knowledge of English, your awareness of other cultures and your employability.

Developing your TEFL skills:

  • helps you to brush up on your knowledge of English, which will be useful whatever career you choose
  • opens your eyes to other cultures, something which employers appreciate
  • opens up job opportunities all over the world

What options do we offer?

  • University of Worcester students can take TEFL modules for credit, as part of an undergraduate degree. The 15-credit modules LANG1012 and LANG1013 give you a taste of TEFL teaching.
  • You can also enrol on our 30-credit Access to CELTA (LANG2011) module, which offers an opportunity to obtain a CELTA certificate.

The TEFL class was the best one I have ever had and probably will ever have [...] I appreciated the possibility to take part in one of your classes a lot and I learned so much.
