Sanctuary Group welcomed around 40 students, who are all studying an Operations, Project and Risk Management module at the University's Business School, to its offices in Worcester to better understand how the business is managed and the challenges it faces.

The learning sessions will allow the students to apply their academic learning to a successful commercial business model.

As part of the exercise, students were invited to ask questions about the business and share their ideas for improvements. Each student will now apply their knowledge from the sessions and write a report recommending opportunities for improvement, with the authors being invited back to present their ideas to a panel of Sanctuary staff.

Dr Vessela Warren, lecturer in operations management at the University, said: "We are delighted to have Sanctuary as a live case study for the students" Operations, Project and Risk Management module. Their exposure to a real life business operation has provided the students with a great opportunity to assess the business ideas through the application of theory in context."

Nathan Warren, Sanctuary's Group Director - Commercial, who ran the sessions, added: "We are delighted that we can work with the university to offer this opportunity to the students. Introducing them to a real life business set-up and offering them the chance to feedback to us through their reports will allow us to look at how we can continue to improve our own services, as well as support their education."
