University and College Celebrate Partnership to Educate Hundreds of Students

A plaque has been unveiled at Birmingham Metropolitan College (BMet) to recognise its partnership with the University of Worcester.
The University has validated courses run by the College in a range of subjects over the years including Early Years, working with families, Sports Coaching and Football Business Management and Coaching.
Current plans under development include a new course for dental technicians. Staff from the University also provide support for the College's students in applying for university, writing personal statements and preparing for interviews.
This year 99 students from across Birmingham and Stourbridge achieved their qualifications at BMet and progressed to a course at the University of Worcester.
Andrew Cleaves, Principal and CEO of BMet and Professor David Green, Vice Chancellor and CEO of the University of Worcester unveiled a plaque at BMet's Matthew Boulton College recognising the partnership between the institutions.
Andrew Cleaves said: "The plaque represents our successful collaboration that has led to hundreds of students achieving degree-level success year on year and entering a range of professions. Learners on college and university courses are more diverse than ever, so their routes to study and the support they receive along the way must be adapted to suit their needs.
"BMet and the University of Worcester have long-recognised this and are continuing to develop flexible higher education programmes to ensure many more people achieve their ambitions in the best possible learning environment."
Professor Green added: "Our partnership with BMet enables hundreds of learners to access high quality higher education courses every year and to aspire to be the best they can be.
"We are delighted to be able to recognise our long-standing educational partnership with BMet with this formal plaque and partnership and hope that even more BMet students in the years ahead will progress on to Worcester and then in to professional employment and business creation."
