School Leaders Attend Inspirational Education Conference With Leading Expert

On Thursday 15th June a group of school leaders from Herefordshire, Worcestershire and beyond attended an Institute of Education conference, "Securing Equity Through Collaboration" at the University of Worcester led by Honorary Professor John West Burnham, an internationally renowned expert in collaborative school leadership development.

Transforming education to create a school-led improvement system is a key ambition for the English schools" system. Today's conference provided the opportunity for education leaders to focus on collaborative school relationships, which are the cornerstone of a self-improving system.

Attendees participated in fascinating debates on a wide range of education leadership issues. The opportunity to explore and develop a shared understanding of greater collaboration and how this develops effective professional practice was the main topic of the day.

School leaders reflected on the moral and professional case for sharing expertise and how the concept of bonding and bridging between schools and across communities improves pupil outcomes.
