Royal Photographic Society Events at The Hive

In celebration of the Royal Photographic Society's (RPS) international touring exhibition at The Hive a free and public lecture is being held on "The Science of Beauty".
The talk by David James, lecturer at the University of Worcester and fellow of the RPS, will be held at The Hive on 14 March at 2pm and will look at beauty in art and what we mean by "beauty".
David James is one of the exhibitors displaying thought provoking images in a smaller exhibition called "A Nostalgia for Beauty", looking at ambiguous architectural space and the importance and rational of composition in photography.
It will run alongside internationally published photo historian, Mike Hallett's "Fragments", an exhibition showcasing images since the millennium from the 10 to 19 March on the Lower Ground Floor of The Hive.
A'live event took place at The Hive, giving the public a chance to see some University of Worcester student work inspired by the RPS exhibition and join in a discussion about engaging with photography.
A talk was delivered by Peter Hill from the University about photography and vision set within the ideas of science and art.
The Royal Photographic Society exhibition, which opened earlier this month, displays the world's best science photography and is the longest standing exhibition of its kind.
The Hive was first chosen to host the Royal Photographic Society's international touring exhibition in 2016 when thousands of people got the chance to view the collection of distinguished images.
It will be on display until 22 March and coincides with British Science Week (10th March to 19th March 2017).
