Leading Poet to Deliver Special Performance at The Hive


Patience Agbabi was shortlisted in 2015 for the Ted Hughes Poetry Prize and was recipient of The Cholmondeley Award 2015.

Her poetry has been featured on radio and TV worldwide. The former Poet Laureate of Canterbury has authored four books, her latest, Telling Tales, was published in 2014 and is a vivid retelling of Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales for the 21st Century.

Patience will give a public performance of her new book, followed by a book signing, at The Hive on Friday, January 29 from 1.30pm " 2.30pm. Tickets are free and can be booked online at www.thehiveworcester.org/events

In addition, there will be a workshop for University of Worcester students and young people from local schools. Places are limited and must be booked by contacting Dr Tricia Connell at t.connell@worc.ac.uk

The poet visited the University and The Hive last year, when she gave a performance to pupils from Halesowen College, Worcester Sixth Form and the University's English Literature students.
