University Dragons’ Den Event Open To All

The Business Ideas Pitching Event is free to attend and takes place in The Studio at The Hive on Tuesday, February 26, from 12pm to 2.30pm.

A panel of local business experts and entrepreneurs will judge the entries, and the winner’s prize of £250 has been provided by the event’s corporate sponsor, Wynne-Jones IP.

Nicholas Bancroft, Enterprise Manager at the University of Worcester, said: “We are really keen that people from the local community know that this event is for them as well as our students.

“Whatever subject you study, or sector you work in, entrepreneurial thinking is increasingly a part of what we all do. How to present yourself, your ideas and your abilities are all essential skills that can be enhanced through a more entrepreneurial mind-set.”

Worcestershire Growth Hub and Worcestershire WINN will be attending the event, as will representatives from the banking sector, crowd-funders and intellectual property experts, all of whom will be happy to provide advice, guidance, and invaluable signposting to any budding entrepreneurs who want to find out more.

“You might be a student who is thinking about freelance work, or someone in the local community who is considering a career change, or who would simply like to see what the next great business idea is,” Nicholas said.

“Either way, this event offers invaluable access to entrepreneurs and business leaders who will be happy to help you figure out your next step.”

“You don’t actually have to pitch an idea yourself, just attending and taking the opportunity to see what others are doing and to network with our experts could be just the boost your idea needs,” he added.
