The exhibition is being held at the University’s recently opened Art House for the very first time, as well as at the University’s City Campus, both in Castle Street, and features everything from paintings and sculpture to interactive installations, photographs, book covers and adverts.

The exhibition is open to the public until Friday, May 24th, 10am to 4pm daily.

Fine Art and Illustration student, Luke Tandy, has been displaying his piece, For the Fallen. Inspired by Laurence Binyon’s poem, it reflects on the losses of the First World War.

“It’s about how we should remember more than just one single person but every person that died for their nation – that’s why their faces are painted,” said the 21-year-old, from Kidderminster.

Illustration student Mary Cunningham’s took inspiration from the novel Howl’s Moving Castle, to create portraits. Reflecting on the last three years, the 21-year-old, from Dorset, said: “It has been a mixture of hard work and enjoyment. It’s rewarding just to have my work on display at the end.”

“It’s so strange to see my work here,” she said. “This is the first time I’ve had my work on display so it’s exciting and nerve wracking.”

Ree Han, Head of the University of Worcester’s School of Art, said: “Our wonderful students have put together a fantastic and hugely varied display and we are particularly pleased to be using our new Art House for this showcase occasion.

“This is a great opportunity for the public to see what our budding artists and creators are working on here at the University but also to see new techniques and mediums that they are using to express their ideas.”
