Our Final year Digital Media Production BA (Hons) students exhibited their work in the heart of the City of Worcester, at Hanbao. In this blog course Leader, Helen Holmes, talks about what they've achieved.

Each December, our final year students exhibit a range of their ongoing projects to demonstrate their skills to our creative industry contacts and the course community. Every year the exhibit has an authentic concept, and this year's "Project X" was no exception.

We were delighted to collaborate with a much-loved venue in the heart of the city of Worcester. Hanbao is a unique setting and favourite burger restaurant of our students. The atmospheric roof garden was home to our exhibition, with twinkly lights and botanic walls, and even a few cocktails.

Project X

The students welcomed over 150 guests including creative industry contacts from agencies such as We Are Beard and Nifty Comms, plus many of our Course's graduates, who now work in the industry, from the Classes of 2012, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022. Students designed their own 'plinth' to reflect their style of work and personality, and each displayed their showreel. The students launched their digital portfolios and social media channels, and spent the evening discussing their work and networking with the guests. A huge screen played the Project X video which they designed and created.

Industry Client comment on the exhibition:

“Working with Dan, Joe, Lauren & Rachel was a dream. As a team they listened to the brief that I gave them and created a package of media that is workable for our business & me as a social media novice. Professional throughout, they have been a joy to interact with & I can’t thank them enough.”

Kat Morgan, Water Babies

Here's what the students had to say:

"Project X was a great experience to be able to speak to various clients and start our industry journey for after we finish our degree. I was very happy with how everything turned out, and am excited for the degree show next year, for us all to push ourselves even further on a bigger scale!"

Rachel Oliver, final year student
