Nick Slade - Director of International Marketing and Recruitment

Nick started at the University of Worcester in November 2017. He brings with him a wealth of experience both from the HE sector and large international marketing and advertising agencies.

Nick, who is originally from Somerset, started his career at Ogilvy & Mather. Working in the London office for a number of years he was keen to take the opportunity to travel overseas and in 1996 transferred to the agency’s Hong Kong operation. Three years in Hong Kong started Nick on a path of international business that he has travelled ever since. After a period back in London, Nick, relocated to Bahrain working for Ogilvy and then finally as Managing Director of Y&R Jordan, another WPP group agency.

The University of Worcester is one of the fastest growing universities in the UK. It prides itself on a student experience and is keen to support high-achieving international students with a range of generous scholarships.

Elizabeth Watson – Regional Manager – China, West Africa and South East Asia

I attend education fairs in Nigeria, East Asia and Turkey and help prospective students learn about living and studying at the University of Worcester.

I have been in the role since 2013. I have always liked learning about other cultures, and have experience as an international student myself when studying in Beijing, China, and Turin, Italy. I lived and worked in China and can speak Mandarin. This helped me write a book on the elderly generation of Shanghai and their lives as I had to interview Shanghai residents.

I’m originally from a different part of the UK but feel at home in Worcester as it is a very friendly city.

Tadas Lavickas - Regional Manager - Europe

My name is Tadas and I have been a part of the University of Worcester for 6 years now. I joined the University as an undergraduate student first and had a truly wonderful student experience.

The warmth and care of the University staff members always allowed me to feel as if I was at home and this encouraged me to extend my stay in the beautiful city of Worcester. I feel privileged to be able to share my personal experiences with prospective and current students and represent the University on an international scale. I strongly believe that the city of Worcester is a unique place to live, study and work, which enables everyone to achieve high academic aspirations and fulfil their potential.

Anand Patil – Regional Manager for Middle East, North Africa & South Asia

I joined University of Worcester’s International team as Regional Manager – Middle East, North Africa & South Asia. With 8 years of extensive experience in the Further and Higher Education industry, I am delighted to be part of one of the fastest growing universities in UK which boasts of some top class facilities like the Hive and £15 million pound sports arena.

I find the city of Worcester a very peaceful and pleasant place. My morning walk to work is the best part of my day with the view of the stunning Worcester Cathedral overlooking the River Severn. What else can you ask for? Join University of Worcester to experience it!

James Hannon - International Office Manager

I recently joined Worcester’s International Recruitment team after working for a number of years in a similar role in the Further Education sector.

My first impressions of the University of Worcester were of the high standard of facilities available to staff and students – such as the Hive, the Sports Arena and the many resources available at the new City Campus – which is a fantastic place to learn.

The main University campus based at St Johns is home to the majority of academic programmes and support functions and is equally impressive and a very pleasant place to be - yet it’s just a few minutes’ walk from the centre of Worcester with its shops, café’s and of course the River Severn and the historic Cathedral.

There is a really positive atmosphere at all locations too – between staff and students – including our substantial and growing number of international students.

Ultimately, it’s proving to be a great place to work, to learn and to develop.

Agata Dziamka – International Graduate Ambassador

Hello, my name is Agata and I joined the International Office as a Graduate Ambassador. As the name suggests I am a graduate of the University of Worcester – I received my degree from Screenwriting and Creative & Professional Writing in November 2017.

Studying at the University was easily the best experience of my life. It was a big and scary adventure to move my whole life to another country but it was definitely worth it. My main aspiration is to make sure every student gets the same amazing experience as I did, so you can always send me an email or give me a call if you need help with anything!

I love Worcester for its picturesque beauty, the cultural and historical background and the places that inspire. I felt at home the moment I arrived here and it still remains my home even after I graduated. I would go back to Uni anytime if I could! It was a life-changing experience that I will be forever grateful for.

Karolina Frybova - International Marketing Assistant

My name is Karolina and I have joined the International Recruitment team as a part of my placement year at the University of Worcester. As I am an international student myself, studying Business, Human Research Management and Public Relations at the University of Worcester, it is pleasure to help you all to fulfil your dream of joining our awesome university. My goal is to increase the interest of potential students to study with us while using Social Media and Digital Marketing.

Worcester is a very welcoming, historic and small city which has everything you need. There are many activities and places to study, socialize and do sports. It’s also really easy to travel from its location in the heart of England. Although there’s no place like home, there’s definitely no place like Worcester which will easily become your second home!

Sara Marsalo - International Officer - China, West Africa and South East Asia

I have always enjoyed travelling and learning about new cultures. During my studies in Helsinki Upper Secondary School of Visual Arts (Finland) I did an exchange year in Saronno (Italy) and later on I moved to Worcester to study my Bachelor’s in Art and Design at the University of Worcester. After graduating I completed an internship in Shanghai (China) and then worked in commercial recruitment. I joined the International Recruitment Office in March 2018.  I really enjoy the international aspect and promoting a university that I am very fond of.

Studying abroad is a once in a lifetime experience that will give you much more than just a degree – you will become confident, overcome challenges and learn to respect everything and everyone. I feel very privileged to be now living and working in the city of Worcester.

Emma Mcquaide - International Graduate Ambassador

My name is Emma, I studied Business Management at the University of Worcester until May 2018, and then one month later joined the International Recruitment office as a Graduate Ambassador!

Although I only originate from an hour’s drive away from Worcester, I have a strong international travel history. I love immersing myself in new cultures, and my favourite places that I have travelled to include India, Kenya and South Africa.

I love working in the International Recruitment office, as I get to convey my fondness and passion for the University of Worcester on a daily basis, to students from a variety of different cultures. Worcester now feels like my home city, due to the beautiful surroundings and welcoming feel that both the university and residents express.
