Appointments to the University are usually made subject to the receipt of satisfactory references, checks of qualifications, health status, and in some cases checks of criminal record. Work permits may be required before some appointments can be confirmed depending on the visa status of individuals. Advice can be obtained from the Home Office on these matters.
