There are lots of people based here at the University who can support your wellbeing during your studies.
Support during Welcome Weekend
During Welcome Weekend, there will be a Student Zone on the St John’s Campus where you can go for a free tea, coffee and chat with a member of our support services.
During Welcome Week, there will be Fancy A Cuppa event taking place in firstpoint, 10am to 2pm, Monday to Friday, and on Tuesday, 12.00-1.00pm on City Campus. Fancy A Cuppa is an informal social group with current students and wellbeing staff.
firstpoint is your first point of contact for accessing information and support throughout your studies. It is based in the Peirson Study and Guidance Centre (where you will register) and is open Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm.
firstpoint Advisers can answer questions about a wide range of topics including student finance, paying your fees, car parking permits, travel information, accessing support, dyslexia screening, accommodation enquiries and much, much more.
For further information, visit the firstpoint webpage. You may also wish to follow the firstpoint blog for helpful information and tips on making the most of your student experience.

Fancy a Cuppa? Events
During September to May in semester time, join students and staff for free refreshments and a chat at our twice weekly Fancy a Cuppa events. The events are hosted by Student Wellbeing Champions and Student Services staff. These events are an opportunity for students to make contact with support staff and come together with other students in an informal, casual setting.
A confidential space is available should it be required for a more private conversation. For more information on our wellbeing services, visit our student support and wellbeing website.
Reach Study Scheme
When you register, first year students have a Reach account created. This is an online shop where you can purchase course related resources including textbooks, e-books, stationery, electronics and other course specific learning materials while at the University.
Find out more about the eligibility criteria from the Reach Study Scheme pages.
Support for parents and carers of students
Leaving your child can be a daunting experience, but please be assured we are here to support them at every stage. You are more than welcome to come and talk to a member of staff at the Student Zone about any concerns you may have.
Although we will not be able to give you any specific information relating your child, we can talk to you about general support that is available. You can find out more about the wide range of support that is available at the University from our Parents Guide.
For full details of tuition fees and student finances, please visit our Fees and Finance pages.
Download our app
Remember to download the University of Worcester Guidebook App on the App Store or Google Play. This will tell you about events and activities taking place over the Welcome Weekend and your first week.
The app will provide you with campus maps and local information such as shops, banks and travel. You'll also find answers to questions often asked by first year students and who to contact for help and advice.
