We have put together some frequently asked questions and answers below, if you can’t find the information you are looking for, then please get in touch and we will do our best to help you.
You can call us on 01905 85 7500 anytime between 08:30 and 17:00 Monday – Friday. Or drop in and talk to us; we have a ICT Support Desk on the first floor of the Peirson Study and Guidance Centre on the St Johns Campus, which is open from 09:00 until 17:00, Monday - Friday.
Yes, when you register as a student you will be able to access Wi-Fi on all sites; all study areas and cafes are covered. If you are staying in halls of residence you will be able to access Wi-Fi in communal areas, more information can be found on the eduroam page.
As long as your new purchase is Wi-Fi enabled it should have no problem connecting to our services, this includes Apple Mac devices. If you are staying in halls then you can plug directly into a network port in your room to access the internet, to use this service you will need a network adapter, more information can be found on the ResNet page.
When you register as a student you will be able to download up to 5 copies of Microsoft Office 2016 through the University’s Office 365 environment, so you don’t need to purchase your own copy before you get here.
Yes, as a student you get access to Office 365 which includes your University email account and access to 1Tb of cloud storage through OneDrive.

You can use your credit on your student card to print. To add credit to your card you can either top-up on any campus using a self-service point, or you can top-up online.
Yes, you can borrow laptops and hire lockers from the self service machine located on the ground floor of the Peirson Study and Guidance Centre. Flip cams and digital voice recorders can be borrowed from the ICT Support Desk on the second floor.
