The Worcester Wolves, the University of Worcester-based British Basketball League team, secured their first BBL Trophy in top flight Basketball on Sunday 20 March with an 83-76 victory over the Glasgow Rocks in their very own Emirates Arena in Glasgow.

In a nail-biting match, the Wolves trailed the Rocks until the last minute of the third quarter before they started to assert their authority and then extended their advantage in the fourth.

Jamal Williams came off the bench and used his 6ft 9ins height to score 26 points, while University of Worcester student Will Creekmore impressed with 22 points, proving once more that Worcester is rapidly becoming one of the best universities in the country for elite sport students.

Despite being heavily outnumbered in the 6,000 crowd, the 250 traveling Wolves fans and the team made it a day to remember.

The BBL Trophy will be presented to the team again on Friday 4 April when the Wolves play the Durham Wildcats at the University of Worcester Arena at 7.30.
