Mrs Viv Cooke has a proven track record in teaching and leadership. She is Head of the Primary Centre at the Institute of Education. She begun her teaching career as a primary school teacher in Birmingham working in a diversity of schools and having responsibility for science, design and technology and ICT. She has worked in two other higher education institutions as a Senior Lecturer in science on post-graduate, under-graduate and Masters courses and been Year co-ordinator on the BA undergraduate in Education degree. She was PGCE course leader for early years, primary and two year PGCE courses at her previous institution. She has taught at KLC School of Education in Singapore as part of their B.A. Hons Early Childhood Care and Education. Her early childhood was spent abroad and she is bilingual in English and Spanish.
