Sports Therapy graduate, Sarah-Louise Shaw, became the first recipient of the University of Worcester Vice Chancellor's Medal during last week's graduation ceremonies.

Sarah-Louise was presented with the medal at the annual Graduation Dinner, by Vice Chancellor, Professor David Green.

The medal was awarded in recognition of Sarah-Louise's exceptional efforts in saving the life of a rugby supporter, while on a work placement at Kingswood Rugby Club in Bristol earlier this year.

Sarah-Louise was on duty as a First Aider when Ian Hardwell suffered a serious cardiac arrest.

She responded immediately by administering CPR until paramedics arrived, and her actions contributed to Mr Hardwell making as ‘complete a recovery as is possible’.
