Raphael Assaf is a Canadian director and producer, known for I Am My Father (2001), The Zero Sum (2009) and Devil Winds (2003). Originally trained as an actor and writer, Raphael spent his 20's in London where he spent the majority of his time acting on the stage and in commercials as well as directing short films.
His first feature film, a personal drama entitled I AM MY FATHER (N.Y. Festival 2002) was made using his actual mother and father in the lead roles. His second feature film THE ZERO SUM, starred Trainspotting’s Ewen Bremner and won various film festivals. He has been married to Catherine Stack since May 29, 1999. They have two children and split their time between Canada and the UK where Raphael is developing new projects and lecturing at various Universities.
