Prakash is a consultant in Emergency medicine at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and part-time PhD student in the Institute of Health and Society at the University of Worcester.

Prakash’s research is in the area of quality improvement of emergency medicine and emergency care. He Chairs and leads a quality improvement initiative that draws upon the institute of health care improvement (IHI) methodology. In addition Prakash is leading the only integrated doctors’ speciality training In Emergency medicine with a MBA. All quality improvement projects are undertaken within a multi professional context and a programme of emergency nurse Practioners is currently being developed with the nursing team as part of this quality improvement drive. Prakash is working with sample of 10 doctors to collect data to correlate personal improvement and quality improvement for organisational development. The research methodology is based on participatory action research.

Prakash is the lead for Speciality training in emergency medicine for doctors at Doncaster and Bassetlaw teaching hospitals NHS trust. The programme of training that he is leading is currently being implemented in the international health care context.

His supervisors are Prof. Theresa Mitchell, Prof. Kay Mohanna and Dr. Jill Aylott.
