Louise joined the university in September 2016 having previously worked as a head teacher, executive head of a large SCITT and also as a researcher at the DfE. She began her teaching career in inner London and has worked in a wide range of settings and age groups. Her research in the DfE looked at the development of the national assessments for primary children and the development of national key stage 1 and 2 mathematics tests.      
Louise has written primary mathematics assessments for publishing companies and local authorities.
At Worcester University Louise leads the Primary Mathematics team and teaches on the undergraduate and postgraduate initial teacher education courses.

Teaching Interests

Louise leads the primary mathematics team and teaches on all the primary mathematics education taught courses. She also supervises the third year undergraduate mathematics research dissertations. Louise is the module lead for post graduate and school direct mathematics. She is also the module lead for the third year cross-curricular module that focuses on English, mathematics and science.

Research Interests

Louise is particularly interested in the use of quality textbooks and how these support the pedagogy of both trainee and practicing teachers. Other interests include mastery, mathematics pedagogy and differentiation and assessment.
