A University of Worcester Journalism graduate has been snapped up by PR firm Solid Web within weeks of finishing her studies.
Rosina Ayling, originally from Henley-in-Arden, Warwickshire, studied BA (Hons) Media and Cultural Studies at the University, which helped equip her for her new job.
Solid Web owns and manages a variety of different blogs across many different genres and subject areas,
One of Rosina’s main responsibilities in her first weeks in the role has been to promote and manage a blog linked to the Shed of the Year competition. In it, she produces articles and blog posts, and has worked alongside TV presenter and architect George Clarke, who is well known for his Restoration Man and Amazing Space series and is involved with Shed of the Year.
Rosina explains: “I feel privileged to already have a job so soon after leaving university. I felt really motivated to write after finishing my studies, and it is really exciting to see your work in print.
“My degree is already proving very useful as I'm incredibly proficient in key areas such as WordPress and all aspects of social media.
“The course at the University of Worcester was interesting, the lecturers were engaging and I felt I learnt an incredible amount in my time there. I wouldn’t be where I am now if it wasn’t for my course at Worcester, and I’m extremely grateful to the help and support I received there.”
Claire Wolfe, Subject Leader in Journalism, added: “Rosina has been enthusiastic throughout her time at Worcester and has proved herself to be a prolific writer; with her interest in food leading to her writing a regular blog. We feel she has a great future.”
Rosina will graduate in November.
