The Worcester Business School will host its Annual Lecture next week, welcoming the Chief Executive of the UK’s biggest body for marketing and business development.
Anne Godfrey, Chief Executive of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), will deliver a lecture entitled ‘Chartered Institute of Marketing; relevant, modern, global?’ which will seek to explore the importance of the organisation as the industry continues to evolve.
The keynote presentation is a timely one; according to the Marketing Confidence Monitor of marketing professionals, run by the CIM and Bloomberg, UK businesses are heading into 2014 ‘armed with aggressive growth ambitions, with confidence in the UK’s wider economic situation surging, and 60 per cent of marketers reporting increasing confidence in UK economic growth and performance in the year ahead’.
The Worcester Business School’s degrees in Marketing, Advertising & PR and other specialist and related Marketing awards are recognised by the CIM, with the School also providing a route through its Multi-Award Pathway scheme (MAP) to higher level CIM professional qualifications.
Mark Richardson, Head of Worcester Business School and a Fellow of the CIM, said: “We are delighted that Anne is able to join us at our Annual Business Lecture this year.
“This demonstrates a clear commitment from both the CIM and the University to develop and grow their collaboration for the benefit of our future Marketing professionals and industry partners.”
Dr Tim Sellick, Director of Executive Education and Senior Lecturer in Marketing at Worcester Business School, added: “Worcester Business School has a history of working in partnership with client organisations, professional bodies and intermediaries through its programme of events, and other employer engagement.
“These events represent valuable professional development opportunities and will be useful to Marketing and Business Students, Marketing Professionals and Business representatives alike.”
The Annual Lecture is open to all, and will take place at the University’s St John’s Campus on Tuesday 4th March. Guests are encouraged to arrive at 5.30pm for a 6-7pm lecture, with refreshments and a networking reception to follow.
