Alan has been researching and implementing innovation best practice for over 20 years. He has been a keynote speaker on innovation at many international conferences and is recognised worldwide for his research into organisational best practice in innovation, and his absolute belief that innovation is the successful exploitation of ideas. 

With an international reputation, Alan was invited to become a senior industrialist to the UK government’s Department for Trade and Industry where for eight years he led research and codified the knowledge and best practices of exceptionally successful organisations to inform the national UK innovation agenda for industry and later for education transformation. 

Alan led the engagement strategy across the public and private sectors to implement and successfully exploit the best practice approaches his research had identified, designing and delivering for example, national programmes on Business Start-Up to over 2000 graduates across 30 Universities. 

Invited to deliver keynote speeches at many events, including the Delhi 7th World Congress on Total Quality, and to the Paris Success in Business Education Partnerships conference, Alan delivers his talks with passion and credibility. 

Alan is an experienced coach, consultant, expert speaker, facilitator and trainer, specialising in Business Start Up, Innovation, Enterprise, Employability, Leadership and Creativity. He has developed and delivered innovation and business development workshops and sessions for graduates, teachers, academics and businesses to change the way they think, enabling them to release their full potential and providing them with the tools and the personal drive to overcome any obstacles they may face. He has high level mentoring, process analysis and improvement skills and a mastery of strategic diagnostics, income generation, skills proficiency analysis and culture change. 

Alan runs his own consultancy company, is also a Senior Partner at The Innovation School Limited, and as well as his international work he uses his own experience of putting his innovation research into practice by delivering inspirational ‘Innovation in Practice’ workshops and consultancy to the education, private and public sectors across the UK and lately the UAE.
