Located in the centre of the historic, riverside City of Worcester in the centre of the UK, with excellent road and rail links – just 45 minutes from Birmingham and its international airport and 2¼ hours from London.
- Main duties
1. To prepare for teaching by developing an understanding of the content, learning outcomes and modes of delivery for the relevant sessions. This may involve research and reading in the subject area to ensure that the content and delivery is at the appropriate level for a Higher Education audience.
2. To prepare course materials, including setting assignments, producing reading lists, module outlines and learning materials. Ensure that information is available to students in advance of the course and taught sessions using the VLE as appropriate.
3. To teach the sessions by lectures, tutorials, seminars and any other relevant form of learning method.
4. To be available for tutorial support to students at specified times.
5. To undertake marking, and other forms of assessment; ensure work is moderated and grades submitted, and provide assignments for reassessment. This may include the supervision and assessment of Business/Computing/ Consultancy Projects and Postgraduate Dissertations.
6. To ensure regular contact with relevant Module / Course Leader/ Head of Department and Director of Learning and Teaching to keep them informed of progress through the semester.
7. To attend examination boards and module team meetings.
8. To attend quality enhancement events and undertake quality enhancement activities.
9. To attend staff development events and activities (financial support is available).
10. To undertake other administrative duties related to the teaching.

1. A degree or equivalent in the subject area. (For Research Methods teaching a higher degree is essential).
2. Experience of teaching within Higher Education or professional training at the equivalent level.
3. Recent engagement with the subject area and up to date subject knowledge at the appropriate level
4. A commitment to interactive teaching methods with a learner centred focus.
5. The ability to communicate confidently and clearly with a wide range of people both orally and in writing.
6. The ability to work well in a team context when required.
7. ICT competence (for teaching purposes).
1. A higher degree in a related area (or near to completion).
2. Significant experience of teaching within Higher Education or professional training at the equivalent level.
3. Have or working towards an appropriate teaching qualification or registered practitioner status with the H E Academy.
