Trang Ngyuen from Vietnam

BA Marketing (Hons)

Deciding to come to England to study at the age of 15, on my own, was one of the biggest decisions in my life, but, I have never regretted this decision. I am originally from Hanoi the capital of Vietnam, a place where everything is non-stop, where timing is everything and the days move really quickly. After spending a fantastic two years studying A-levels in South East England, it was the time for me to discover a new place for University. After searching through a number of university prospectuses, I decided to come to Worcester - a city where it is not too busy but still possesses a vibrant and energetic atmosphere, both in the day and during the night.

I am studying BA Marketing, which is one of the reasons why I chose the University of Worcester, because Worcester Business School has developed immensely in the last few years, and therefore I knew straightaway that I would be taught in an extremely professional environment.

I am thoroughly enjoying my course as the lecturers are always ready to help whenever needed, as well as the brilliant opportunities of meeting with real business entrepreneurs throughout the modules.

There is also great support available, and events, especially for International students, both in terms of academic and social life. Sports and societies running within the University are also extremely strong, which creates many opportunities to make new friends and to get involved in different events. I am currently President of the new Fashion society at the University, which aims to bring everyone with the passion for fashion together, and those that have a career in the competitive fashion industry in mind, like me.

Since joining Worcester, I have never looked back as it has brought me so much more confidence and I am thriving in this new, enjoyable environment. The University and Worcester in general would definitely be a perfect place for students who prefer quiet but energetic surroundings, as well as looking for a challenging but rewarding education environment, and experience real University life!
