Leaving a legacy

The Power of a Legacy

The University depends on donations, beyond the funding provided by the Government, to provide students with an outstanding education.

Providing outstanding education

After looking after your family and friends, you may wish to leave a gift in your Will to support the future of higher education at the University of Worcester.

Tax benefits

Our charitable status means that there are benefits in leaving a legacy to us. By remembering us in your Will, you can reduce the taxable value of your assets, and so cut the amount of inheritance tax on your estate. Gifts may be in the form of money, property, or other valuables.

Your legacy could support us to...

Make education available to all

At the University of Worcester we would like to make education available to all suitably qualified students, irrespective of their financial means. We wish to continue to offer bursaries to our students and increase means-tested scholarships on the basis of academic, sporting or other ability and potential.

Further excellence in teaching

A gifted teacher can make a lasting difference to a student’s life and inspire them in both their course and career. At the University of Worcester we recognise that quality teaching coupled with a supportive environment is an invaluable asset and will stimulate students to achieve their best. With your support we can endow the most talented and inspirational lecturers to teach in key courses that contribute to advances in society.

Enhance University life

Each year at the University of Worcester we invest in a wealth of building developments to provide high-quality facilities and enhance student experience both academically and culturally. State-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories equip students with the right skills and experience to succeed in a fiercely competitive job market.

Strengthen the endowment

By increasing our financial independence, the University of Worcester will be able to respond quickly to key opportunities and new challenges that arise – securing a better future for our students.
