Amber, from Wolverhampton, said: “My dream is to work within the media industry, specifically to be a broadcast journalist and work in radio/TV. During my time at university, I secured several placements in both radio and written journalism to enhance my portfolio and I will continue to do so over summer too.

“During my third year as part of one of our modules I had to complete a 40-hour placement. I managed to secure my placement at the Daily Mirror in Canary Wharf in London. During my time there I was working on the Digital Sports desk and I got several of my articles published online.”

After finishing university, 21-year-old Amber applied for the BBC Kick off Sports reporter scheme and got through to the interview stage.

“I was narrowed down to the final three, but sadly didn’t get through,” she said. “The interview itself was a massive learning experience.”

Talking about the University of Worcester, Amber said: “I chose Worcester as when I came on the open day and my interview, I loved the feel and vibe of the uni and knew it was somewhere where I could see myself. Also I looked specifically at my course and the modules looked great.  Their sporting teams also had a great reputation and there was a wide variety of sports.”
