Suzanne is a Principal Lecturer and Course Leader for BA (Hons) Primary Initial Teacher Education with QTS.  She joined the School of Education in 2012 as a senior lecturer and subject lead for Primary English. She has recently been appointed as the (Interim) College Director of Learning, Teaching and Quality Enhancement for the Schools of Arts, Humanities and Education.

Her desire to work in initial teacher education has always been driven by her enthusiasm for developing the teaching and learning of the next generation of outstanding teachers and she is particularly passionate about the teaching of English in primary school. She spent 20 years working in primary schools and at senior leadership level. Her work in these areas led to a secondment to the Local Authority as a Literacy Consultant. During this time, she was successful in gaining Advanced Skills Teacher Status and has supported many schools and leadership teams in this capacity.
