Paul has substantial experience across the full spectrum of local, regional, national and international crime investigation and intelligence work in Policing. Over more recent years Paul has gained experience at the National Crime Agency (NCA). 

Paul has been the recipient of 2 national investigation awards, as a PIP 3 Senior Investigating Officer (SIO), PIP4 Strategic Manager of Investigations and Strategic Firearms Commander. He has led high profile investigations of national and international significance. Paul's career highlights include leading homicide investigations into serial killers; kidnappers; working as advisor to the British Army Special Investigation Branch; the largest ever UK Heroin seizure and the Rotherham Child Sex Abuse scandal. Paul is currently responsible for all of the NCA operational and investigative work tackling high end serious organised crime threats across the Midlands, Wales and South West Region.

The NCA’s purpose is hugely motivating. The people of the NCA, working with the partners, strive to keep the country safe from serious organised crime. Paul, having devoted his life to tackling crime feels it is a huge privilege to be part of the University as an Associate Lecturer in Criminology. He is committed to developing student knowledge as well as the scientific study of criminal behaviour and its practical application within the Criminal Justice System.

Paul holds a Masters in Criminology & Criminal Psychology and a degree in Law. Paul's out-of-work life is dominated by trying to be an active father. When work/parenting allows he enjoys hiking in the mountains.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Laws with Honours - University of Birmingham
Master of Science in Criminology and Criminal Psychology -  University of Portsmouth.
