Lorraine has worked in the NHS for 22 years, working in medical personnel, trainee psychiatrist recruitment and training in Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Trust. Later, Lorraine worked as an undergraduate coordinator for medical students in Worcester Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. She is now delighted to work with Physician Associate Students at the University of Worcester.
Lorraine joined the team in September 2015, when the Course was still in its infancy, assisting with the sourcing and administration of clinical placements.
During her time at Worcester, Lorraine has witnessed, not only the development of the Course, but also the transformation of our trainees from students to qualified, competent and confident clinicians who are a credit to the Physician Associate profession.
Away from work, Lorraine spends a lot of time with her grandchildren and and working with her daughter on a community project – Community Schools Swop Shop, based in Rubery, South Birmingham. The project involves the collection, laundering and redistribution of used and/or unwanted items of school uniform - free to anyone who would like them.
