Research Project
My research involves the analysis of a very large collection of stone tools from the Mendip Hills, Somerset. The assemblage comes from field walking an area close to the southern edge of plateau and contains material spanning the Upper Palaeolithic to Bronze Age. My analysis will enable identification of the main periods represented by the scatter and spatial analysis will determine whether individual/period-specific sites or activity areas can be identified. My study will also involve experimentation and replication in order to explore how materials were being made, used and deposited through time at this site.
