Dr. Claire Martin (BSc Hons, PG Dip, FHEA, PhD, FRSB, CBiol), is a highly experienced biological scientist with an established track record of high quality national and international research, income generation, publications, presentations and industrial collaborations.
Claire read BSc (Hons) Neuroscience at the University of Sussex, followed by a PG Dip Biochemical Engineering at University College London (UCL). After completing her PhD in pharmaceutical science at The University of London, School of Pharmacy (ULSOP), she developed key research themes of novel homogenisation strategies for biopharmaceutical products during a BBSRC-funded postdoctoral fellowship at ULSOP and University of Cambridge.
Claire started her academic career at the University of Wolverhampton, supporting the establishment and continuing development of the MPharm, BSc and MSc Pharmaceutical science programs. Claire joined the University of Worcester in 2018 and continues to pursue research interests centred around the development of responsive controlled release delivery systems for wound management, formulation and assay development of novel antimicrobial agents as well as development of non-parenteral formulations for the delivery of anti-infective agent.
Claire an active member of the academic pharmaceutical sciences community both nationally and internationally through collaborations, external examining and professional networking. She is author/co-author of over 70 peer-reviewed publications, including journal articles, book chapters, reviews and conference proceedings as well as an active reviewer for numerous high impact pharmaceutical and analytical science journals, national funding bodies and international conference committees. Her contribution to the biological sciences has been recognised by the Royal Society of Biology with the award of Fellowship (FRSB) and granting of Chartered Biologist status (CBiol).
